QUEEN MARY UNIVERSITY OF LONDON: Executive Assistant to the Principal

The Office of the Principal wishes to appoint an Executive Assistant to provide high-level and comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Principal, who is the head of the institution. The role will focus on ensuring the smooth, efficient and effective running of the Principal's agenda, diary and meetings, as well as contributing more broadly to ensure that the Principal and the wider Office is able to operate effectively. The role will require considerable initiative, judgement and adaptability to
decide on appropriate courses of action and to react to changing circumstances.

This role will provide a central point of contact for the Principal. As such, the post holder will liaise with a wide range of people at a very senior level in QM and at partner organisations and therefore will be
expected to represent the Office of the Principal and the institution in a professional, efficient and courteous manner. The post holder is expected to maintain complete confidentiality at all times.

As a key member of the administration function in the Office of the Principal, the post holder will engage daily in activities to support the smooth and efficient running of the overall office as part of its PA
team. The post holder may also act as Secretary to groups related to the Office of the Principal's functions as appropriate, organising the agendas and papers, and producing accurate minutes in a timely manner, as well as ensuring that all committee documents are properly archived.

This is a wide-ranging role incorporating routine but important tasks though to more involved project and events work and the successful applicant needs to be comfortable and capable of operating across this broad range of tasks.

The post is full time and permanent. Starting salary will be in the range £30,805 -£36,182 per annum. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
