Nexus 7 2 press shot leaked, confirming overall design and rear-facing camera Jul 22nd 2013, 00:22

Pocket-lint sources have already confirmed the next-generation Nexus 7 tablet will be announced to the masses this week. Right on time, famed EvLeaks has taken to Twitter to show-off Asus and Google's latest creation before the two companies can get to it themselves.

Most notably, the press shot provided by the leakster confirms the tablet will get an overall design tweak. You'll find top and bottom speakers, a headphone jack at the top, front and rear-cameras, and a Nexus logo conveniently placed on the back. Interestingly, it doesn't appear Google or Asus made any effort to slim-down the bezel on the second version of the tablet.

As for features underneath, previous leaks have indicated a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of DDR3L RAM, a Slim Port for 1080p video playback over HDMI, wireless charging, and a hefty 1980 x 1200 screen resolution, will be included. The press shot seems to confirm the added pixels. Furthermore, it sounds like we'll see Android 4.3 included, which is suspected to be announced at the same-time as the new tablet.

According to a leaked Best Buy advertisement from PhoneArena, the Nexus 7 2 will become available with a $229.99 pricetag on Tuesday 30 July. EvLeaks says to expect both 16GB and 32GB configurations.

Google is holding a small media event on 24 July where it is expected to make the announcement. Stay tuned with our Nexus 7 media hub for the latest.
